Our goal when deploying instructors is to have them teach while dressed in and displaying the sponsor’s product. For example, when teaching a Close Protection course, the instructor would be dressed in Tactical 511 clothing, wearing a holster from Safariland, Carrying a pistol or training weapon from our pistol sponsor and carrying a Surefire tactical Light on their belt provided by Safariland with boots from Tactical 511 and wearing a sponsor provided hat, which he/she would rotate on a daily basis to give each sponsor equal promotion.
Every class held by HarborSite is preceded by an introduction from our instructor team introducing our sponsors product lines and explaining how the HarborSite/Sponsor team works together to bring low cost training to our nations law enforcement personnel. A sponsor table is set up with sponsor literature and marketing materials that the students can take with them. A Banner will be displayed identifying each of our sponsors.
Carbine, Pistol, Sniper, and other firearms courses will be held using sponsor weapons and accessories such as slings, sites, & lights. Each course will be preceded by an introduction of our sponsor’s equipment and the benefits of such.
We have signed with Visual Films (www.visualfilms.com) of Monroe, Michigan to develop a series of tactical training videos. Sponsor equipment and banners will be displayed and discussed throughout the video. Videos are being storyboarded and production will begin in late 2007.
With every training course, prizes provided by sponsors are given away as part of a drawing at the completion of each course. Some of the things that have been given away include free training, tactical knives, optics and even a dozen donuts (For the Cop in all of us).
A sponsor page is being created on our site that will list our sponsors and provide links to their websites.
Our training facilities are currently being leased on an as needed basis. We are in the process of obtaining exclusive use of and expanding the facilities to include a full range of counter-terrorism training capabilities. As we expand, we will be hosting a series of Police, S.W.A.T, and related competitions that will allow further expansion of our sponsorship program. Current membership exceeds 2500 people with many being law enforcement.
We will air our first commercial four times a week, for one year on the Sportsman’s Channel starting in October, 2007 and will advertise a series of training courses on home defense, concealed carry, basic and advanced firearms, and much, much, more. These courses will also be advertised through our network of law enforcement and gun stores.
