Three Day Pistol / Two Day Carbine

This course is designed to develop a solid foundation of shooting skills with both the pistol and carbine rifle. The student will exercise these skills in a variety of shooting situations using both weapons. The student will quickly gain experience and confidence, increasing their skill level with the handgun and carbine and learning to use both in a tactical situation. The following topics will be discussed during the course:

  • Safety
  • Fundamentals of shooting
  • Drawing the pistol from the holster
  • Malfunctions
  • Speed shooting
  • Multiple shoots
  • Multiple targets
  • Shooting positions
  • Shooting on the move
  • Shooting moving targets — Will come later
  • Shooting behind cover

Ammunition Requirements: 1500 rounds of pistol ammunition, 1000 rounds of carbine ammunition

Gear List: PPistol, holster, three pistol magazines, magazine holders, belt, wraparound eye protection, ear protection, carbine rifle, three carbine magazines, magazine holder or pouch for your carbine magazines, rain gear, clothing appropriate for climate and conditions, a water bottle or other hydration system, and weapons cleaning kit.
