Basic Pistol

This course is designed to develop a solid foundation of shooting skills. The student will exercise these skills in a variety of shooting situations. The student will quickly gain experience, confidence and increase their skill level with their handgun. The following topics will be discussed during the course:

  • Safety
  • Fundamentals of shooting
  • Draw
  • Malfunctions
  • Speed shooting
  • Multiple shoots
  • Multiple targets
  • Shooting positions
  • Shooting on the move
  • Shooting moving targets — Will come later
  • Shooting behind cover

Ammunition Requirements: 1,500 rounds of ammunition

Gear List: Pistol, holster, three magazines, magazine holders, belt, wraparound eye protection, ear protection, rain gear, weapons cleaning kit, clothing appropriate for climate and conditions and a water bottle or other hydration system.

Course Cost: $425.00 includes lunch each training day. A current listing of Hotels for over night lodging is available on our web site. Most items on the gear list may be purchased at additional cost from our Pro Shop.
